Review | NH Collection Berlin Mitte Friedrichstrasse, Berlin

NH Collection Berlin Mitte Friedrichstrasse Blog Review Junior Suite Room
Reviewing hotels has now become a hobby of mine. Reviewing hotels whilst on holiday though? Even better. When me and Sat went to Berlin after Christmas last year, we had the chance to stay at a luxury hotel called NH Collection Berlin Mitte Friedrichstrasse... and boy were we not disappointed.

When I visit a new city, I like to stay as close to the centre as possible. I used to prefer staying in the outskirts of a city because hotels were substantially cheaper. Now after a few years of travelling, I've realised that no matter how great the transport links are, you'd most likely be paying more when you're staying on the outskirts of the city due to travel expenses.

NH Collection Berlin Mitte Friedrichstrasse is located on Friedrichstrasse (a popular shopping street) in Mitte. It was nice to be based there because we were able to leisurely stroll through the street to see popular sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag Building and Gendarmanmarkt. The train station was literally next to the hotel, which made it so easy for us to visit other attractions. Reception/Lobby

The lobby of this hotel was incredibly chic. Other than the prominent reception desk, they had a plushy lounge area where guests were able to relax and chit-chat away. However, the thing that instantly caught my eye was their huge LED screen - it took over an entire wall itself! It featured a range of moving abstract videos which was mesmerising to say the least.

Within the lobby, there was also an open bar area and a concierge desk where you can rent out bikes, segways and e-scooters. If you ever needed any tourist information, they can help too!

Rooms

We had the chance to stay in the Junior Suite of the hotel. When I walked through the door, I was surprised to see how big the room was. It was the biggest hotel room that I've stayed in so far! Equipped with the usual amenities that you'd find at a luxury hotel i.e. mini bar, high-speed wifi and large flat-screen TV, our room was very modern. The room was given a splash of colour with its vibrant red armchairs to compliment the wooden floor and neutral-toned furnishings. I loved that because it gave the room a very contemporary and stylish feel! The bathroom was brilliant. It had a big illuminated LED mirror, a professional hairdryer (you girls know how big of a perk this is) and a very powerful rainfall walk-in shower - amazingly perfect after the hard work of being a tourist all day. My favourite feature of the whole room has got to be its floor-to-ceiling windows. Every day we were welcomed with natural daylight, and every night we were able to admire the city's lights. As we were located right above the busy shopping street, it was nice to just sit and people-watch... well in my case, to see if the hot dog man has started work yet.

All in all, our stay at NH Collection Berlin Mitte Friedrichstrasse was simply amazing. We were really impressed with the hotel's service and the quality of our room. Each morning, we were able to indulge in the hotel's buffet breakfast, and each night, we were able to get a comfortable night's sleep on our big plushy bed. We loved the centrality of the hotel and how it was a stone's throw away from Friedrichstrasse S-Bahn train station, U-Bahn metro station and Mcdonalds (yes, that matters too).

We weren't able to take advantage of this but if you stay at the hotel over the weekend, you can take advantage of their "Lazy Sunday", when breakfast is served until noon and late checkout (before 5pm) is free of charge! How amazing is that?! With numerous hotels dotted around the world, it's definitely worth staying with NH Collection.

A massive thank you to NH Collection for hosting us! Have you guys stayed with them before? If so, where?
