Review | Middletons, Leicester

Middletons Steakhouse & Grill Restaurant Leicester Food Review
Sorry for being MIA for the past month, I do have a tendency to hibernate during Winter. I'm not going to lie, my motivation dramatically dropped when the whole 'shorter day and longer night' kicked in (a habit that I'm working on to stop, I promise!)

Now back onto the post... Not too long ago, I went to review a Steakhouse & Grill restaurant in Leicester called Middletons. My excitement levels were off the roof when I stood outside the former iconic NatWest bank building in St. Martins. You guys all know how much I adore meat - especially steak!

It's amazing to see how they've utilised mahogany panels, red luxurious leather seats and decadent chandeliers to turn the spacious building into a warm and intimate environment for their diners.

After looking at their menu pretending that we didn't know what we were ordering (having looked online already - c'mon, you know you do it too!), we eagerly waited for our food to come out whilst sipping on our delicious cocktails.

Drinks

I went for my usual Piña Colada (spiced rum, Malibu, pineapple juice, cream, milk, Piña Colada mix), which I found extremely hard to ration and not guzzle all at once due to how nice it was. Sat went for the Singapore Sling (gin, Chambord, Cointreau, pineapple juice, grenadine, sweet & sour mix, bitters), which was equally as tasty due to how fruity and refreshing it was.

Starters

For starters, we went for the Sticky BBQ Ribs and Garlic Prawns. I was torn between ribs and steak for my mains, so I was incredibly glad to find their ribs on their starter menu, as it meant that I could taste both. The ribs were sticky alright! It was full of flavour and sauce, exactly the way I like it. The garlic prawns were amazing too. I love anything garlicky, so the prawns definitely went down a treat.

Mains

As  for mains, me and Sat went for our all-time-favourite, the18oz Chateaubriand. Cooked medium-rare with a side of sweet potato fries and seasonal salad, the chef came out with our Chateaubriand and carved the prime fillet into thick slices - what a nice touch! The quality of the meat was great. It was very tender and wasn't at all chewy! Seasoned to perfection, we polished off the dish with nothing left to spare.

Overall, me and Sat had an amazing time dining at Middletons. It's been nearly a year since we dined at a steakhouse and Middletons definitely didn't disappoint. The restaurant boasts fine cuts and fine drinks, and that was definitely what we've experienced. If you love meat as much as I do, you honestly need to get yourself down there!
