When you live in England, sometimes you forget that there are other famous landmarks dotted around the UK other than the Big Ben, London Bridge and Buckingham Palace. One landmark that I knew I had to visit at least once in my life is Stonehenge.

Not many people know, but I am an alien enthusiast (I blame my dad). Anything alien or UFO related, it's bound to get my attention. With Stonehenge being one of the wonders of the ancient world (and also the centre of ancient alien theories), of course I had to pay a visit! If it's good enough for aliens to visit from outer space, then it's good enough for me!

Visiting Stonehenge has actually been a breathtaking experience for me. With a history spanning over 4500 years, I was surprised to see how clean and peaceful the site was. However, it was such a shame to see some parts of the stones vandalised with names engraved on. I don't even know why people would do such a thing to an iconic and prehistoric monument (clearly ignorant as hell).

Me and Sat weren't expecting to see anything else other than the Stone Circle, so we were pleasantly surprised to see the Neolithic Houses where we were able to go inside and get an insight on how people lived 4500 years ago. The 'Standing in the Stones' part of the Stonehenge experience was really interesting. We got to feel and imagine what it'd be like to stand in the middle of Stonehenge at winter and summer solstice by watching the 360 degree screen. To end our visit, we got to wander around Stonehenge Exhibition where we got to see over 250 archaeological objects and treasures discovered in the landscape!

Although no aliens or UFOs were spotted during our visit, we had a fun and memorable time at Stonehenge. Seeing the stones in person baffled me to wonder how on earth they even managed to build the whole Stone Circle. If that was my reaction with Stonehenge, I can't imagine what my reaction would be like when I do ever visit the Pyramids in Giza!

Have you been to Stonehenge before? If you haven't, you definitely need to! We stayed at the Milford Hall Hotel in Salisbury for our trip. If you live quite far away from Stonehenge, it's definitely worth checking out the hotel to make your trip a relaxing one.
