Review | April 2016 Birchbox

My April Birchbox is here! Creatively designed by US stationary and lifestyle brand Rifle Paper Co, this month's 'Blooming Marvellous' box features a beautiful floral print - perfectly convenient for the arrival of Spring.

What I Received...

Having saw a preview of what could be in my April Birchbox from an email by Birchbox themselves, Benefit's Dew The Hoola was the main product that I was hoping to receive. So when I saw it in my box, I was extremely happy. I love sun-kissed skin but it's hard for me to achieve that sun-kissed glow. As I have oily/combination skin, I tend to steer away from liquid and creamy bronzers because they make my skin look too greasy and shiny. Knowing that this product is 'shimmerless' and 'semi-matte', I think I may have found a new favourite.

Not too long ago, I received a similar product from Number 4 Lumiere d'Hiver in my February's Birchbox and I remember I was really happy with it because I was planning to purchase the full sized product when my sample runs out. Receiving this leave-in conditioner in my box got me a little bit excited because it made me wonder if it was better than what I already have. This product however has heat protection and added vitamin B5 on top of the numerous benefits that it claims it has, so I'm really curious to test out its performance.

Eyeliner is hands down my makeup bag staple. I'm still yet to find the perfect water line liner, so when I saw an eyeliner from Cynthia Rowley in my Birchbox, I was really desperate to see what the texture was like. After trying it out, the texture was creamy and I immediately knew that this was a no-no to wear on my water line. However, its velvety-smooth finish allowed me to smudge it out within 30 seconds before the colour locks in and becomes smudge-proof. I'll definitely be using this on my lash line until I have a breakthrough in my quest to finding the perfect water line liner.

Due to extreme luck and blessed genes, dark eye circles are something that I've never needed to treat as I don't really get them. I really like the concept of this product and even if this tinted eye cream may not have the best transformation on me, I will still be using it as it is packed with antioxidants and vitamin E. It also contains light-reflecting particles to help brighten eyes too, which is something that I'm really fond about.

I know I'm not the only one, but foot cream has always been a forgotten product on my bathroom shelf as my all-over body lotion has always took the shine. Being a heels and flats wearer, socks isn't really something that I always wear. When I need them, I just steal them from my boyfriend's drawer (sorry babe, if you're reading this haha). As the shoes that I wear may not be the most comfortable, this foot cream could be the ultimate nourishing relief for my feet. It's said to be enriched with sweet almond oil and royal jelly to soothe and soften, so I'm sure that this can prep my feet for the Summer better than my standard body lotion!

My Thoughts...

Yet again, I am pleased with what I've got in this month's beauty box. Birchbox said that they wanted to add a little spring to our step and they certainly did! The selection of the products were great as it features a great range. Each Birchbox subscriber were entitled to two make-up products in their boxes this month and I was really happy with both products that I've received. I was also happy with the other products I got but the only thing I was a bit disappointed with this month is that all the products were sample sized. In the past boxes I've received, there were always at least one or two full sized items, so I found it strange how there were none in April's box. However, they are generously sized so I'm not too disappointed about it.

What did you get this month? Have you tried any of the products yet?
